What You’ll Do
- Manage Legal’s Processes, Systems, and Technology: Manage and continuously improve the Legal Team’s processes, systems, and technology including:
- Own and administer the Legal Team’s technology tools (e.g., a CLM tool like Ironclad and matter and spend management software like SimpleLegal).
- Manage workflows for the company’s NDAs, DPAs, contractor agreements, and other agreement types. Review and negotiate third-party agreements.
- Identify and implement solutions to improve knowledge management and access to information within the team and across the organization.
- Develop and oversee training and user adoption of new solutions.
- Build out internal Legal intranet pages and maintain a consistent cadence of communication relating to Legal initiatives.
- Corporate Compliance:
- Maintain business qualifications for domestic and international entities.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on routine corporate filings for entity changes.
- Data Analytics and Reporting:
- Manage contract renewal reporting process.
- Compile, analyze, and report on metrics to assess efficient utilization of Legal Team resources and achieve greater productivity, while ensuring alignment with the team’s objectives.
- Project Management:
- Provide project management support for the Legal team, including project plan development, status management, and task tracking.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritize projects along with ad hoc requests/initiatives.
- Support Privacy Program:
- Work with our Chief Privacy Officer to plan and maintain an engagement strategy, define objectives, and address privacy-related controls, risks, and issues.
- Assist with ROPA, PIA, DPA’s and other key privacy documents.
- Manage calendars for updating external and internal privacy policies and guidelines.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution Support:
- Track and respond to a wide variety of inquiries, including from customers, regulators, and creditors (UCC notices).
- Respond to subpoenas.
- Maintain a robust template library and constantly improve on the substance of the responses.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution matters.
At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
- A passion for legal, compliance, and privacy matters.
- 5+ years experience working on a legal or compliance team in-house or at a law firm.
- Experience with legal management tools (e.g., Ironclad, Simple Legal, Box, Salesforce, and Adobe Sign) and other work technology tools (e.g., Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Word).
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business and organizational needs.
- The ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, small but growing environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization.
- Strong writing skills with a focus on creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documents and reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey legal and privacy concepts and requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fully remote setting.
- Experience in managing privacy programs and ensuring ongoing compliance across an organization.
- Industry privacy certifications, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or CISSP, are a bonus.
