KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Legal Advisory & Support
- Provide
legal advice to Management and staff on banking operations and legal
matters.
- Interpret
laws, regulations, and contractual obligations affecting the Bank.
- Support
various departments on legal and regulatory issues.
- Advise
on legal risks associated with products, services, and transactions.
B. Contract Management
- Draft,
review, and vet contracts, agreements, MOUs, and other legal documents.
- Ensure
contracts adequately protect the Bank’s interests.

all loan documentation complies with Credit Policy and legal requirements.

D. Recovery & Litigation Management
- Support

litigation registers and provide status updates to Management.
- Recommend
legal recovery actions where necessary.
F. Corporate Governance Support
- Support
maintenance of statutory records and legal registers.
- Ensure
timely filing of statutory documents and licenses.
- Monitor
legal obligations and compliance deadlines.
G. Policy & Process Management
- Participate
in development and review of:
- Legal
policies
- Recovery
procedures
- Contract
management procedures
- Compliance-related
policies
- Promote
legal awareness within the Bank through staff guidance and training.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s
degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
- Advocate
of the High Court of Tanzania is an added advantage.
- Postgraduate
qualification in Banking, Compliance, Risk, or Corporate Law is an added
advantage.
Experience
- Minimum
3–5 years’ experience in legal practice, banking legal services, or
corporate legal affairs.
- Experience
in banking, microfinance, loan recovery, or commercial law is highly
preferred.
- Familiarity
with banking regulations and loan documentation.
- Experience
dealing with external lawyers, regulators, and courts.
