The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing legal support through advisory work, review and drafting of transactional/product documentation to business units and banking operations in relation to daily operations. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sound legal advice, guidance and support to various business/operational units within the Bank and actively participate in project support through provision of legal matters.
Reviewing and drafting various documentation, including IT contracts, commercial contracts, loan documentation, product and marketing collaterals.
Prepare the analytical review of available information and suggest well-considered recommendations on lawful contents with multiple demands.
Counsel the operating units on potential legal issues/opinions to ensure the organization’s interests are protected from a legal perspective.
Represent the Legal Department as a member of working groups where legal representation is required.
Job Requirements:
Malaysian citizen.
A law graduate from a reputable university with at least 10 years of solid experience in general practice with an established legal firm in Malaysia. Handling portfolios in any one or more relevant areas such as banking, conveyancing, corporate finance or restructuring and/or in-house corporate counsel with knowledge of banking and financial services is a plus.
Business and legal proficiency in English (written/spoken).
Independent self-starter with good interpersonal skills and detail oriented with good analytical research skills.
Ability to make practical evaluations of risk and apply a commercially savvy approach to legal matters.
