🎯 What You’ll Be Owning
- Strategic Counsel – You’ll have shared responsibility for co-managing Megaport’s legal engine room, supporting the team to keep on top of the BAU legal work as a player coach. You’ll deliver crisp, commercial advice on a variety of areas to support Megaport’s daily business activities, including sales agreements, procurement, regulatory and legal compliance matters.
- Deal Ninja – Review, draft, and negotiate everything from enterprise MSAs to referral and commission agreements.
- Team Leadership – Mentor and motivate our Australian based Legal Counsel; foster tight collaboration with Legal & Compliance teammates.
- Dispute Solver – Guide resolutions quickly and pragmatically when issues pop up.
- Legal Ops Champion – Optimise workflows, elevate Ironclad, and embed scalable processes.
- Reg Watch – Track regulatory shifts; translate risk into clear business action.
- Special Projects – Support the Chief Legal Officer with special projects — never dull, always meaningful.
🧠 What You Bring
- Minimum 7–10 yrs post-admission (with solid in-house experience)
- LLB (or equivalent) and current unrestricted QLD practising certificate
- 2–3 years of proven experience in managing, mentoring, and growing a team, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive performance.
- Experience supporting remote or distributed teams is a strong plus.
- Tech/IT industry exposure required (bonus points for cloud or telecoms)
- Elite contract drafting & negotiation skills.
- Commercial mindset—practical, risk-balanced solutions are your superpower.
- Calm multitasker across time-zones & shifting priorities.
