Responsibilities
  • Drafting, negotiation, review, and approval of commercial real estate brokerage contracts, including listing, commission, representation, confidentiality, lien waiver, consulting, and other brokerage agreements.
  • Review of vendor, service, and other commercial contracts.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to real estate professionals and their managers relating to the Company’s business activities 
  • Legal research on administrative rules and laws regarding real estate brokerage.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals to RFPs and assure corporate compliance therewith.
  • Identify and analyze legal issues with an understanding of how to appropriately balance risk with the Company’s ability to pursue its business interests.
  • Respond promptly to the business with efficient and high-quality legal service.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. 
  • Membership in good standing of a state bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years practicing corporate law at a top-tier law firm.
  • Strong ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
  • The position requires excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills, good and practical decision-making ability, strong leadership skills, the ability to exercise sound judgment and the ability to interact effectively with the Company’s executives, professionals, staff and other employees, as well as with other legal colleagues, and outside counsel.
  • Ability to identify and respond effectively to sensitive business issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range Language: 

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $185,000 annually.  The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
