Responsibilities:
- Candidate’s primary role includes:
- Reviewing and advising on NDAs and sales and procurement contracts for business units in Vietnam.
- Handle and advise on corporate and licensing matters in Vietnam.
- Handle and advise on disputes with customers and suppliers.
- Handle and advise on regulatory matters.
- Legal research and advice.
- Manage and direct external legal counsels, including overseeing their performance, ensuring quality of work, and controlling legal costs.
- Handle corporate secretarial matters.
- Other legal matters assigned by the Associate General Counsel.
- Candidate reports to Associate General Counsel.
- Candidate is expected to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Requirement:
- Recognised law degree in Vietnam.
- Qualification in the Vietnamese Bar is preferred but not mandatory.
- 4-5 years in a reputable law firm or legal department of a logistics company.
- Legal work experience in logistics or cross-border transportation is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to communicate in writing and verbally in Vietnamese and English.
Desired Competency and Skills:
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, procurement contracts, leases and tender documents.
- Strong business sense, with an ability to use legal skills and judgment to provide practical, thoughtful and risk-based solutions.
- Preparation and submission of licensing applications, annual filing or updates of corporate and business data (if applicable).
- Experience in litigation or dispute resolution in commercial matters.
- Legal research on commercial legal and licensing matters.
- Advise in and manage commercial disputes.
