About the role.

We’re looking for a circa 2 years PQE lawyer with excellent corporate and commercial legal experience who is aiming to support the Lead Corporate Counsel in advising on and driving the corporate and debt legal workstreams for the company and the Senior Commercial Counsel with a variety of other commercial and strategic matters. Our Legal Team sits at the heart of Zilch and works hand-in-hand with the founders, C-suite and business owners to achieve their goals. We partner with departments to understand the requirements for each deal and drive the deal through to completion, advising on all legal aspects thereof.

Day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel and Lead Corporate Counsel to lead the commercial, corporate and debt legal workstreams for the company, including complex and transformational contracts and transactions for the business; capital raises; securitisations; M&A and IPO readiness, and investor relations (from a legal perspective).
  • Provide commercial and strategic advice to various stakeholders within the business across a variety of corporate and commercial deals (digging deeper to understand the technical requirements and business rationale underpinning the deal) through to completion.
  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel to develop processes to scale the Legal Team (particularly in relation to the commercial, corporate and debt legal workstreams) in line with the growth of the business.

What we're looking for...

  • Ideally, 2-3 years PQE.
  • A current practising certificate (qualified in England and Wales is preferred).
  • Technical experience in UK corporate and commercial law.
  • Corporate experience as a private practice lawyer (top firm experience is a bonus) or equivalent experience in an in-house tech environment.
  • Ability to excel in advising on transformational corporate & commercial matters.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Solutions-focused.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to drive matters forward.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment
