Your New Role
As Legal Counsel, you will fully integrate yourself into the FDB business by participating in daily meetings and using a practical approach to proactively understand and resolve legal issues before they arise. You will develop a deep understanding of ongoing projects and priorities, working closely with project management teams to achieve FDB’s goals and become a trusted business advisor.
You must be capable of providing excellent legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including contract negotiation. You will work closely with your international colleagues in the global FDB legal team and share perspectives, learnings, and templates.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Leading legal review, drafting, and negotiation of various commercial agreements such as construction agreements (AB18), master service agreements, and consultancy agreements. Supporting the Legal Director on strategic collaborations.
- Liaising with capital project teams to understand objectives and draft and negotiate capital procurement contracts.
- Identifying and advising on commercial and quality issues related to agreements.
- Managing contractual disputes and seeking expert assistance as necessary.
- Collaborating with FDB’s patent agent on intellectual property matters.
- Acting independently and escalating issues to the Legal Director, Compliance Officer, or site management when needed.
We Expect You To be able to build strong relationships with FDB legal colleagues, internal clients, cross-functional teams, and the global legal team. You are a clear communicator who can quickly get up to speed on our projects, bringing deep legal knowledge and experience as a critical asset for the business.
- Ability to develop an intimate knowledge of Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies Group business practices, processes, and commercial drivers for effective legal advice.
- Balance legal advice with the pressures of completing contract negotiations while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Cooperate with counterparts at client organizations to achieve mutual objectives.
- Hold a Danish law degree (master) and relevant legal practice experience, including the ability to identify potential issues in other legal jurisdictions, and provide clear guidance on Danish and European legislation.
Skills & Knowledge, We Hope You Possess
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Specialist knowledge is desirable, such as experience in manufacture of biologics, construction projects, and supply and procurement contracts.
- A proactive approach with self-awareness to recognize when support is required.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and influencing skills across complex matrix organizations and client organizations.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English, as the role and documents will predominantly be in English.
- Good listening and interpreting skills.
- Willingness to travel for meetings is required.
