Job Description

Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Attorney -Regulatory/Compliance to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in technical product compliance and interfacing with U.S. authorities such as NHTSA and FCC.  

Core Responsibilities include: 

• Lead legal support for all U.S. and Canadian technical product compliance matters, with a focus on Quality-relevant departments and operational units.
• Serve as the primary legal interface with U.S. and Canadian regulatory authorities, including but not limited to NHTSA, FCC, and Transport Canada.
• Manage and support product recalls, field actions, and product integrity issues, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.
• Independently handle regulatory inquiries, investigations, and technical support requests from authorities, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Continuously monitor, analyze, and interpret evolving legal and regulatory frameworks in the U.S. and Canada, including legislative developments and enforcement trends.
• Collaborate with global colleagues on large scale/Global impact product integrity, homologation, and compliance issues.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Active bar admission in the US
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a legal professional in a corporation, law firm or both,
  • Strong knowledge of technical compliance, product integrity and product liability laws 
  • Proven abilities in legal review of regulatory requirements and providing necessary guidance to  all levels of an organization 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting.
