We are seeking an experienced legal counsel to join our collaborative legal team, providing a wide range of legal services and support on corporate matters, including operational support and guidance, litigation, employment matters, data privacy, commercial transactions, compliance, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have strong background in litigation and regulatory matters, as well as handling escalating employment matters, with a demonstrated ability to support strategic growth initiatives, commercial operations, and enterprise-wide compliance programs.

Compensation: $150,000+ yearly bonus

Key Responsibilities
• Provide support and guidance on operational activities to our field locations, including handling compliance, commercial transactions, and other various issues.
• Provide support and guidance on employee relations issues, performance management, and terminations, along with leading internal investigations, updating employee policies, handbooks and procedures, and support ethics and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal business partners and provide reliable legal leadership in all phases of corporate transactions to drive business strategy.
• Provide advice on data protection laws, including regulatory compliance oversight.
• As needed, collaborate with and manage external counsel while ensuring disciplined capital allocation and cost-effective legal support with respect to litigation and operational claims.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including vendor, supply, licensing, SaaS, joint venture, real estate leases, and services agreements.
• Supervise and provide support and guidance on risk management for the company.
• Review of regulatory filings and documents.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred).
• College degree required, preferably in a business discipline.
• Minimum of four to six years’ experience as an attorney at a law firm or similar in-house position.
• Strong background in litigation, employment law, and commercial agreements.
• Business-minded, collaborative, and comfortable handling matters across diverse subjects.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced business environment.
• Ability to be a self-starter and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
• Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through strong interpersonal skills and a practical, business-oriented approach to legal advice.
Physical Requirements
• Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, or reaching as needed to access files or office supplies and ability to navigate the office environment.
• The ability to frequently lift up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small packages) and occasionally move up to 25 pounds (e.g., light equipment).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Skills Required

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Admission to the Texas bar (preferred)
  • College degree required (preferably in a business discipline)
  • Minimum of 4-6 years' experience as an attorney at a law firm or in-house
  • Strong background in litigation, employment law, and commercial agreements
  • Experience with data privacy and regulatory compliance oversight
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (vendor, supply, licensing, SaaS, leases, services)
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, be a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with business partners and manage external counsel cost-effectively
  • Ability to frequently sit at a desk, lift up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally
