Our #oneteam is proud to be among the Best Workplaces in Europe and certified Great Place to Work across our offices. Here, there’ll be no average day for you. Ready to Press Play on Potential?
Let’s start with the role
We are seeking an experienced in-house Legal Counsel to lead our intellectual property legal work , protecting the brands, clearing new products and campaigns, negotiating various commercial agreements, and turning enforcement strategy into results. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is equally comfortable running a trademark opposition and sitting with a commercial team to explain why a campaign asset carries risk.
No two days are identical. You might advance a trademark filing or opposition while coordinating with external counsel, review a marketing or sponsorship agreement, conduct a clearance assessment for a new feature or brand, and advise product or commercial teams on live IP and digital compliance matters.
You will also monitor legislative developments across multiple jurisdictions and help shape the business's response before regulatory changes take effect. This role will suit someone who is commercially minded and pragmatic, enjoys providing advice that enables the business rather than simply identifying risks, and wants genuine ownership of a high-value IP portfolio.
- Trademark portfolio across jurisdictions — Manage trademark prosecution, oppositions, and cancellation proceedings, and coordinate and supervise external counsel;
- Copyright & content — Advise on copyright protection and enforcement for software, game content, and creative and marketing assets;
- Commercial contracts — Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, marketing, advertising, influencer, ambassador, sponsorship, and IP licensing agreements, among others;
- Clearance & FTO — Conduct IP clearance and freedom-to-operate analyses based on digital regulation for new titles, features, and branding, before launch rather than after;
- Campaign & product review — Review marketing materials and product releases for compliance with third-party IP rights and advertising rules in each territory;
- Enforcement partnership — Partner with internal stakeholders on brand-protection enforcement, UDRP strategy, and takedown escalations;
- Horizon scanning — Monitor legislative and case-law developments in IP and digital regulation across operating jurisdictions and translate them into practical guidance;
- Enablement — Contribute to internal IP / Digital Law training and to linking work to commercial outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
- A law degree and license/admission to practice in any EU jurisdiction, with a strong academic record;
- A Master’s degree in Law (MSc or LL.M.) with a specialization in commercial law, entertainment law, intellectual property law or technology law is considered a strong plus;
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience in intellectual property and/or commercial law, ideally combining private practice and in-house exposure;
- Experience in entertainment / technology / gaming / media industry, or another regulated, multi-jurisdictional consumer sector;
- Demonstrable command of trademark prosecution and enforcement, including EUIPO and multi-jurisdictional filings and oppositions;
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating IP, licensing, sponsorship, and marketing agreements;
- Working knowledge of copyright, advertising, and unfair-competition law as it applies to digital and consumer brands, including familiarity with the EU digital-regulation stack (DSA, AI Act);
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to provide clear, commercially focused legal advice to non-lawyers and communicate difficult messages constructively.
- Organizational rigor and ability to manage a high-volume portfolio with strong prioritization;
- Confidence using legal technology and AI-powered tools ;
- Ability to work both collaboratively as a team member and independently, taking full ownership of workload to manage deadlines.
