Tasks and Qualifications:Legal Responsibilities:
Proactively promote and practice effective and professional legal advice for Dematic UK’s business activities and service offerings.
Support pre-contractual legal considerations such as review and analysis of ITT’s/ RFQ’s and provision of ad hoc (strategic) advice to the sales- procurement and/or execution teams.
Drafting and negotiating contracts, variations, and related documents forms as required in conjunction with senior management.
Support and advice the business teams on contract compliance, contract awareness, contract change management and related matters.
Render support as required in relation to Corporate Governance and Compliance Matters
Liaise, where necessary, and act as intermediary, with other specialist or external advisors.
Ensure a consistent pass through of contractual positions and risks to suppliers/subcontractors where possible by rendering appropriate assistance to the procurement team.
Engage closely with the business teams to ensure that legal/commercial outputs are in compliance with Dematic policies.
Attend contractual meetings with customers (including co-operation with purchasing on supply contracts) on contractual issues prior to closing.
Ensure a consistent pass through of contractual provisions to other Dematic entities and departments where necessary.
Ensure that contract (templates) are kept up to date in line with new legal developments and Dematic’s best practice.
Support other Legal Counsel in rendering assistance to European or Group Legal in relation to both contentious and non-contentious matters where appropriate
Risk Management
Ensure that contracts are administered in line with Dematic policies.
Ensure insurance commitments are reflected within the business contracts.
Financial Management
Support on ad hoc financial duties
Liaise with Treasury regarding credit security matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in law
Solicitor or equivalent, admitted in a common law jurisdiction additional European/civil law qualification is a plus.
Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of complex concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of contract specialization.
Demonstrates broad knowledge of organization's business practices and issues and contributes to resolution of those issues in support of regional management team.
Proven record in commercial legal work
Proven record in private legal practice is a plus
Thorough legal drafting and good negotiation skills, coupled with business driven legal advisory tasks
deep knowledge of standard form engineering contracts typically used in the industry such as MF1 and FIDIC
Deveral years commercial experience and specifically negotiating commercial construction related contracts is a plus
Language skills: English native/advanced; additional language skill is a plus
