What You'll Do
- Provide clear, practical legal advice on music publishing, copyright, and licensing matters across APAC markets
- Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements with music publishers and collective management organizations (CMOs)
- Partner closely with Business Affairs and cross-functional teams to support commercial negotiations and strategic initiatives
- Advise on legal implications of new product features, launches, and business models involving musical works
- Help ensure compliance with contractual obligations, copyright laws, and local regulatory frameworks
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
- Contribute to scalable legal frameworks that support Spotify’s continued growth in the region
Who You Are
- You have a minimum of 6+ years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal role with exposure to music publishing or copyright law
- You are experienced in negotiating licensing agreements involving digital services, publishers, and CMOs
- You have a strong understanding of the commercial dynamics of the music industry and digital platforms
- You are comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions, ideally with experience in APAC markets
- You communicate clearly and know how to simplify complex legal topics for a range of audiences
- You can manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast-paced environment
- You care about supporting creators and rights holders in an evolving digital ecosystem
- You bring a collaborative, inclusive mindset and align with Spotify’s values

- This role is based in Singapore or Sydney
