The Legal Director, Disputes will be responsible for strategic management of litigation, claims, disputes, investigations and training for DAA
Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic management of litigation, claims, disputes, and investigations
Counsels and collaborates with business and functional colleagues to investigate and handle claims and resolve potential disputes
Offers clear and effective counsel on a variety of legal issues
Develops and improves policies and guidelines
Develops and provides legal training on various topics to company personnel
Works collaboratively and effectively with DAA Legal Department colleagues, external counsel, internal business and functional teams, risk management, and insurance carriers
Works collaborative and effectively with Legal Department colleagues in Daikin Americas entities, seeking opportunities to align on consistent approaches and policies
Anticipates, researches, and communicates regarding legal issues that could impact the company
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Your Qualifications:
Juris Doctor
5+ years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house experience working on litigation, claims, disputes, and investigations
5+ years experience with manufacturing or construction (preferred)
Works within knowledge
Works on highly complex matters impacting variety of business units
Ensures work aligns with Company strategies and objectives
Adheres to Daikin's Code of Business Conduct, core values, corporate policies, procedures and standards
Strong management and organizational skills
Strong negotiation skills
Strong research and drafting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $142,600.00 - $250,900.00 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
