Your mission?

Joining Dailymotion's Legal team means contributing to the growth of a pioneering company that relies on its talents to have a positive impact on society.

We're looking for a motivated, energetic, and positive Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. You'll work on two strategic pillars: privacy law and general business affairs. An exciting combo where you can truly make a difference.

We're looking for a motivated, energetic Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. You'll work on two strategic pillars: privacy law and general business affairs. An exciting combo where you can truly make a difference.

🚀 What you'll actually do

🔐 Privacy Side – Because protecting our users is our priority

Compliance & Advisory

• Partner with our DPO to ensure compliance with global data protection laws (GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA, etc.)
• Advise teams on privacy-by-design principles, including through development of dedicated AI agents
• Provide strategic privacy guidance to product, engineering, and business teams

Documentation & Processes

• Maintain Registry of Processings
• Conduct / assist DPO in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments
• Develop privacy policies, cookie policies, and data processing agreements

External Relations & Training

• Manage relationships with data protection authorities (ex. Data breach notifications)
• Assist Support team with replies to data subjects / consumers requests
• Lead training and awareness programs across the organization
• Monitor evolving privacy legislation and case law and assess impact on our operations

📝 Business Affairs Side – Because every contract matters

Contracts & Negotiations (in French and English, with teams in Paris and internationally)

• ✅ Content partnerships & video player subscriptions
• ✅ Advertising sales contracts
• ✅ Technical contracts (bandwidth, services, software licenses)
• ✅ Production, influencer, and talent agreements

Legal Support & Governance

• Conduct legal research and draft memos
• Manage trademarks and domain names
• Review legal templates and update Terms of Use
• Handle government authorities' requests in compliance with our hosting provider status
• Provide legal advice and training to operational teams across departments and international subsidiaries

✨ What we're looking for

The essentials:

• 🎓 Education & Experience

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• 5 years of legal experience with demonstrated expertise in privacy law and data protection

• 🌍 Language & Skills

• Bilingual FR/EN – drafting and reviewing contracts in both languages
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently AND as a team player
• Deep understanding of confidentiality with excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills

• 🔒 Privacy Expertise

• Solid knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA
• Knowledge of other international privacy regulations a plus

The Big pluses:

• ⭐ CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) or equivalent certification

• ⭐Experience at a tech, media, or internet company, or at a law firm with a privacy/data protection practice

4️⃣ Meeting with your future manager (1h) – Our Head of Legal → We dive into the role, your experience, your vision, and review your case study together
