We are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to sit within the Legal Team, based in our Milan office. This will be a 6 month maternity cover role, that will be reporting into the Legal Director.
The core mission of the role is to support an expanding UNIQLO Italy business from a legal and compliance perspective. As part of a global business, the position involves coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders within the EU and elsewhere, including Japan. Italy is a strategic market within the EU, therefore the role is essential for UNIQLO to continue its successful expansion in that market.
What you will be responsible for
Draft various contracts and other legal documentation
Negotiate contracts with vendors in coordination with business teams
Offer practical, low risk solutions to legal consultations from business
Resolve various disputes arising within business, including customer claims
Educate employees on compliance matters including conducting training
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
Admitted to practice law in Italy (Must have )
Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience at a law firm or in-house (Must have)
Experience in transactional work in corporate, commercial, consumer protection, data privacy and labour and employment law (Must have), except labour and employment - (Must have)
Experience in disputes and litigation (Nice to have)
Experience working for a retail company (Nice to have)
Experience working in a global, multi-cultural environment (Nice to have)
Full professional proficiency in English and Italian (Must have)
Ability to see holistically how legal position affects business and flexibly adapt position (Must have)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines (Must have)
High flexibility and autonomy in dealing with and prioritising work scope (Must have)
Willingness to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations (Must have)
Ability to work under tight budget constraints and minimise spending for legal advice (Must have)
Open to domestic and overseas travels when required (Nice to have)
