The Legal Compliance Specialist, Ethics & Compliance supports the day-to-day operations of AMN’s ethics and compliance programs. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Ethics and Compliance, The Legal Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting with compliance controls, coordinating audits, supporting payroll and labor compliance initiatives, as well as contributing to communications and programming that promote a strong ethical culture. This role is responsible for cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure maximum risk mitigation and compliance program execution.

• Assist with support for enterprise-wide ethics and compliance program

• Organize and drive compliance committee meetings; track related deliverables, deadlines, and metrics.

• Assist in developing, delivering and tracking compliance training, presentations, and job aids.

• Assist in reviewing payroll practices to ensure compliance and execute risk mitigation initiatives

• Assist with collecting and data for audits, investigations, and wage compliance initiatives.

• Conduct periodic audits of pay practices and support remediation of any identified risks.

• Prepare and maintain compliance reports and dashboards

• Assist with special projects related to process improvement, compliance modernization, and risk reduction.

• Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory concepts, especially wage and hour law

• Ability to focus, with an emphasis on research

• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills with high work standards and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Education & Years of Experience

• Bachelor’s degree  
• 3 years payroll experience, auditing experience and/or experience in Finance or Business  

Certifications

• Compliance Professional Certification (CCEP or similar) 
• Project Management or Change Management Designation 
• Certified Payroll Professional  
• Bachelor’s in a business-related field  

Additional Experience

•  5 years of payroll compliance experience within a large, multi-state, public company payroll operation  
• Experience with or knowledge of payroll systems, including ADP, and HCM software including PeopleSoft and Workday. 

• Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
• Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
