In this position you will....
..be part of the legal & compliance function within a fast-paced and growing business, work with and report to the Korea Senior Legal & Compliance Manager across a wide range of tasks including the legal, regulatory compliance, data privacy, company secretarial, and risk management functions. As a member of the bolttech Group’s Office of General Counsel, you will also support bolttech Group’s legal, compliance, and risk management functions which may include tasks related to countries other than Korea.
You will be responsible for…
- Providing practical legal advice and solutions proactively so that the business can make sound decisions after having considered the potential risks
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), addendums (including extensions, renewals, and terminations), and service terms and conditions, while ensuring compliance with Group-approved standard contract clauses, and maintaining the contract management system to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Monitoring new and amended laws and regulations continuously, analyzing their impact on the business and compliance issues, and reporting to management and stakeholders
- Operating control systems to prevent or address violations of Group policies, procedures, and legal guidelines, and reporting violations to regulatory authorities when necessary
- Reviewing and advising on personal data protection matters, ensuring alignment with Group policies, and conducting Privacy Impact Reviews for new product launches
- Monitoring company risks, supporting the implementation of the Group-wide enterprise risk management framework by collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Managing key corporate documents such as board and shareholder meeting minutes and resolutions
- Ensuring the company secures all documents, permits, and licenses necessary for business operations, and complies with legal reporting and disclosure requirements
- Raising awareness of due diligence processes for partners and vendors, and supporting KYC procedures by assisting in the preparation of relevant documentation
- Advising the business on communication with regulatory authorities and government agencies (information requests, inspections, etc.)

You will require the following qualifications and skills
- Qualified to practice law in Korea or in a recognized common law jurisdiction
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience: Prior experience with a regulated financial industry or tech/fintech industry is desirable; experience of working in or alongside compliance, risk, audit, or related areas would be beneficial
- An understanding of legal and regulatory issues relevant to the insurance/insurtech sector including data privacy, financial crime regulations (e.g. AML, CTF, sanctions, ABC), consumer protection, and corporate law is highly desired
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Korean and English: must be able to communicate legal principles, practices, and procedures in both Korean and English
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Has high integrity and exercises sound judgment
- Good time-management and prioritization skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Skills Required
- Qualified to practice law in Korea or in a recognized common law jurisdiction
