Legal Associate

The Legal Associate will serve as a core member of the in-house legal function, providing integrated support across corporate/commercial and contentious matters. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day legal workstreams that span contract drafting and review, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution, including internal fraud investigations, coordination with law enforcement, and civil litigation management.
Working closely with the Legal Corporate & Compliance Manager, AVP Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Legal Associate will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence, exercise sound legal judgment, and manage external counsel where required.
Job Description

Commercial & Corporate
1. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, NDAs, and partnership arrangements

2. Provide legal support for corporate governance matters including board resolutions, entity maintenance, and regulatory filings

3. Assist in transactional workstreams such as fundraising, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships as required

4. Monitor regulatory developments and advise internal teams on compliance obligations relevant to the company's business activities

5. Support the development and implementation of standard contract templates, legal policies, and internal processes

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

1. Manage civil disputes from pre-litigation through settlement or judgment, including coordination with external litigation counsel

2. Lead or support internal fraud investigations, including document preservation, witness coordination, and preparation of investigation reports

3. Coordinate the filing and monitoring of police reports (laporan polisi) and follow up with relevant law enforcement authorities

4. Prepare and respond to formal legal correspondence including demand letters, cease and desist notices, and legal claims

5. Maintain a dispute register and provide regular status updates to senior management on active contentious matters

Job Requirement:

1. Indonesian law degree (S.H.) from a reputable university; additional qualifications (M.H., LL.M., or equivalent) are an advantage

2. Minimum 3–5 years of legal experience, with meaningful exposure to both corporate/commercial and contentious matters, ideally spanning private practice and in-house environments

3. Admitted to practice in Indonesia (PERADI membership or equivalent in good standing) is an advantage

4. Solid command of Indonesian corporate law, contract law, and civil procedure; familiarity with relevant sectoral regulations is a plus

5. Demonstrated experience handling police reports, criminal referrals, or fraud-related legal matters

6. Strong drafting skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English

7. Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently, exercise judgment under time pressure, and escalate appropriately

8. High level of professional integrity and discretion, particularly in handling sensitive internal matters
