The Role

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy, and contributing to a collaborative legal team. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in ensuring efficient case management and day-to-day administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports
  • Manage and maintain case files (electronic and physical)
  • Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, court dates, and deadlines
  • File legal documents with courts (state and federal, including e-filing)
  • Conduct basic legal research as needed
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses
  • Assist with billing, time entry, and expense tracking

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience with legal document management and e-filing systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Paralegal certificate or related education is a plus
