Role objective and key accountabilities:
The Legal Assistant will assist with the preparation, organization, and tracking of legal documents, help coordinate the contract review process, and support in the compliance process. The role will involve working closely with internal teams to ensure proper documentation, adherence to procedures, and alignment with telecom industry standards.
Reports to: Legal & Contracting Team Lead
Key interactions:
Internal: Sales Team, Strategic Partnerships Team, Deal Desk, Finance Team
External: External Legal Counsel (when applicable), Business Partners, and Third-Party Service Providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the review of contracts and legal documents by identifying basic issues, inconsistencies, or missing information under supervision of legal counsel
- Assist in the drafting and formatting of standard agreements (e.g., NDAs, vendor forms, client templates) using approved templates.
- Coordinate internal contract review workflows, ensuring documents are routed to the appropriate stakeholders for input and approval.
- Maintain and update a centralized contract repository, tracking key obligations, deadlines, and renewal dates.
- Organize and maintain legal and regulatory documentation to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Schedule and coordinate contract execution, including collecting internal approvals and tracking signatures.
- Provide administrative support during contract negotiations and meetings (e.g., preparing summaries, notes, and follow-ups).
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of contract management tools or systems.
- Conduct basic legal and regulatory research as requested, and assist in preparing summaries or internal notes.
- Help track relevant legal and regulatory developments and flag potential impacts to the Legal or Compliance team.
- Assist with the preparation of internal compliance reports and documentation for external counsel, auditors, or regulators.
- Liaise with external law firms or stakeholders to coordinate communication and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support the legal team in organizing trainings, internal policy updates, or compliance initiatives.
- Act as a project manager for legal operations matters (e.g implementing tools for optimizing legal work, etc)
Skills:
- Basic understanding of contract law and legal concepts, with a willingness to develop further
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal coordination and document preparation
- Ability to conduct basic legal research using online sources and internal databases
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing and formatting legal documents
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks under supervision
- Comfortable working under deadlines and managing administrative workflows
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with contract management systems is a plus
- Reliable team member with the ability to work independently on routine tasks
- Professional, discreet, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills for supporting collaboration with internal teams and external partners
- Adaptable and able to adjust in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Eager to learn and take initiative in improving legal processes
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
- Preferably at least 1 year of experience supporting legal or contracting functions, ideally in an in-house or legal services environment
- Exposure to reviewing and organizing contracts or legal documentation
- Familiarity with basic legal research tools and document management systems
- Experience in contract management or compliance functions is an advantage
- Background in telecom, technology, or a regulated industry is a plus
