Legal Assistant
Atlanta, GA (Preferred)
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled legal assistant to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Operational Controller, and secondarily to the General Counsel, as well as supporting the family, as needed. This role is critical to the future success of the family.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support with minimal supervision; anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Serve as the first point of contact for a wide variety of high-level relationships with external contacts.
- Work as a member of the team, willingly provide back‐up support for co‐workers when appropriate and actively support group goals.
- Develop legal documents that require independent drafting, processing, revising, tracking, and filing agreements; including, but not limited to, operating agreements, license agreements, development agreements, management agreements, professional service agreements, technology and system agreements, purchase and sale agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor agreements, among others.
- Assist in periodic review of processes and law to ensure continued compliance
- Conduct basic, intermediate, and advanced legal, regulatory, and business-related research, as needed.
- Ensure assignments and projects are tracked, handled effectively and efficiently and follow up as needed.
- Participate in and/or direct special projects as needed
- Track corporate structure, insurance, personal property, charitable donations, etc. including reporting for the family
- Coordinate estate planning work with outside attorneys and internal tax resources
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
- Maintain discretion and integrity of sensitive information.
- Experience drafting documents
- Ability to coordinate directly with staff members and outside parties while managing business relationships
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a high paced environment
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to work autonomously, as well as excellent situational judgment
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent Internet research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint to craft compelling presentations
- Microsoft Office and Google Platform proficient
