Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, a key position in the Mars Health & Wellness Platform legal organization. Mars Health & Wellness (H&W) is a collection of Business Units that house fast growing, insurgent brands such as KIND, Nature’s Bakery, and Tru Fru. Health & Wellness is investing substantially to maintain the trajectory of our hyper growth Brands and will continue to increase as the result of the platform’s acquisitions. In this role, you will work closely with H&W attorneys to provide broad legal assistant support to all H&W Business Units. You will find opportunities to facilitate best practices sharing across Business Units while respecting the uniqueness of each.
What you’ll do

You have impeccable attention to detail, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. You have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.


• Assist in reviewing basic transaction documents, including NDAs, amendments, termination letters, etc.
• Prepare initial draft documents based on templates, under attorney supervision.
• Contract management, including DocuSign management, updating contract management database.
• Assist in developing template agreements and maintain template and precedent library.
• Review and provide initial guidance on marketing, social media, and promotional materials.
• Coordinate trademark prosecution matters, obtain specimens and signatures from marketing team, and maintain trademark enforcement tracker.
• Draft routine board resolutions and manage corporate books and records and other related governance activities.
• Support process for development and execution of Legal holds in relation to new and ongoing litigation; assist in preparing and maintaining litigation log.
• Liaise with finance team on legal department budget planning, including management of insurance costs and outside counsel spend.
• Support collection of information for insurance renewals and audits.
• Coordinate business unit legal training and assist with the development of curriculum and guidance documents.
• Identify opportunities and best practices, processes, and procedures to optimize work processes.
• Maintain legal department knowledge management databases.
• Facilitate cross-functional and cross-business unit knowledge management.
• Support legal department workflow management.
• Assist with special projects, as assigned.

• 2+ years of relevant experience in legal support roles; in-house legal department experience preferred
• Strong familiarity with contracting processes and commercial contracts
• Bachelor’s degree
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Advanced skills in professional software (Microsoft Office suite, Google tools, Adobe Acrobat, Litera)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
