Acting under the direction and supervision of the Associate General Counsel, provides general Legal Assistant support of the contracting and transactional functions and responsibilities of the Associate General Counsel, as well as in support of the more general legal needs of the WVUHS Legal Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School diploma or Equivalent
2. 2 Years of experience in legal or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Associates degree in business/office management, secretarial sciences, or related legal field
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience with database and document management systems
2. Experience related to general transactional and contract legal processes
3. Advanced experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe

1. Provide a wide range of support to WVUHS transaction and contracts team
2. Key point of contact, responsible for calendar management and travel (when necessary) for associate and assistant general counsel.
3. Communicate timely and professionally with internal WVUHS departments regarding legal matters
4. Prepares documents for signature and coordinates execution and mailing of legal documents
5. Monitor and maintain management information for the WVUH Legal Services Department.
6. Maintain appropriate departmental filing system and departmental files ensuring ease of access in timely manner to accurate information.
7. Complete various projects related to the organization of documents, filing systems, and management of on-site and off-site contracts.
8. Lead area by Create and organize information, and generate reference tools for easy use by the office.
9. Monitor governmental websites for excluded parties on governmental and OIG websites, perform sanction checks on outside vendors as necessary, and ensure all vendors are registered to perform business in state of residence.
10. Ensure contract file has all contracts, signatures, and documents fully executed prior to closing.
11. Circulate copies of contracting documents to stakeholders as appropriate.
12. Support the WVUH Legal Services Department in all matters, including support of other counsel and staff within the Department as needed.
13. Train other personnel in contracts management database as directed.
14. Organize and track files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery16 documents; creating files and maintaining files in electronic case and contracts management databases.
15. Obtaining and assisting with the review of due diligence and discovery materials, such as corporate certificates of good standing and other court filings.
16. Search legal records collected in computer databases.
