The Role

TITLE:  Legal Assistant                                   CLASSIFICATION: FT / Regular / Hourly / Non-Exempt


DEPARTMENT:   Foreclosure                                                                       LOCATION: Little Rock, AR


WORK LOCATION and HOURS:  LITTLE ROCK, AR, Monday – Friday, 8: 00 AM to 5:00 PM

Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position it is imperative that the individual in this position be available to work during the firm’s office hours.  The individual schedule will be determined by the department manager based on business needs.  Reliability is critical.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Draft legal documents utilized in judicial court actions; File legal pleadings with the Court; Assist attorneys with service of process of legal pleadings; Correspond with debtors and firm clients through telephone and written communication; Respond to client inquiries and provide information to clients regarding the judicial process; Accurate and timely entry of data in the firm’s case management system; Access client websites to request documents, upload documents and update the client’s website with accurate information regarding case status and timeline.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:                                                                                                         

1.                Answer inquiries via telephone or email, responding in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

2.                Provide timely and accurate responses to client inquiries.

3.                Ensure all required information is properly entered into the firm’s case management system and client websites in a timely and efficient manner.

4.                Draft correspondence and pleadings used in the judicial foreclosure; Ensure accuracy of the information contained in the legal documents.

5.                Identify and request from the client any missing documents and/or data needed for the judicial action.

6.                Performs all other duties as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Ability to accurately enter data and draft documents in a high-volume environment.

·       Must be PC literate, skilled in MS Office, and able to adapt to a variety of data base systems.

·       Must exhibit professional communication skills (verbal and written)

 

 PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:


·       Experience with LexisNexis Accurint.

·       Experience with ARCourts/AOC CourtConnect

·       Experience in real estate title or real estate law.

·       Experience with Arkansas Judiciary Electronic Filing/eFlex.
