General Purpose:

In coordination with the Practice Group team, provides administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, legal specialists, and other colleagues as needed and requested.  Works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment to deliver the highest level of service to internal and external clients.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Understands the specific needs and business of the practice group.
  2. May assist with the business intake process – run adversary searches, draft screening memos and engagement letters and open new files.
  3. Manages administrative tasks as requested, including, but not limited to, processing and disseminating mail, preparation of audit letter responses, billable time input, expense reports, check requests and reviewing client billing statements.
  4. In partnership with the travel vendor, effectively schedules and manages travel arrangements as requested.
  5. Assists as needed with all in-office tasks/requests, projects, overflow work, administrative work, and other duties as required (i.e., copying, scanning, filing, preparation of binders, document organization, etc.) to support and aid in the workloads of timekeepers, legal assistants, legal specialists, and other colleagues throughout the firm.
  6. Ability to create and edit documents in Microsoft Office with a high level of attention to detail.
  7. Effectively manages workflow and priorities.
  8. Proactively supports the team and demonstrates a positive and collaborative approach to working with others.
  9. May manage logistics for internal and/or external meetings.
  10. May provide backup support in other areas, such as reception.
  11. Perform additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives.

      Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

      1. High school diploma or GED/equivalent required
      2. Two (2) years of office/clerical experience required. Experience working in a law firm or court a plus.
      3. Skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
      4. Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and typing skills.
      5. Knowledge of basic office equipment (i.e., copier, scanner, telephones, etc.).
      6. Aptitude to learn new computer programs.
      7. Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of people inside and outside the firm.
      8. Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and the work assigned by several attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, legal specialists, and other colleagues throughout the firm.
      9. Ability to maintain composure, behave professionally and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
      10. Excellent judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills to handle a variety of responsibilities under general supervision.
      11. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

      Physical Requirements:

      While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

      Work Environment:

      Schedule:

      This position is required to be in-office Monday through Friday 8:30 am through 5:00 pm to support business needs.

      Compensation:

      Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.  The Colorado Salary Range is $26.15 to $43.58 per hour.  A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
