Job Description Summary:

The Leave Analyst role is dedicated to providing support to OhioHealth’s Third Party Administrator (TPA) for leave, disability, and accommodations. The role will also be managing and resolving internal escalations efficiently, while also ensuring compliance with OhioHealth’s programs and federal, state, and local regulations. This role will also partner closely with internal partners like HRBP, payroll and other SMEs to work through complex leave of absence issues.

Responsibilities And Duties:

 
Leave Administration: Assist in identifying areas for leave of absence and disability process improvement opportunities and contributing to the development and definition of standards for new leave administration processes.
Problem Resolution: manage and escalate complex cases appropriately for guidance including but not limited to, issues related to system processing, leave pay discrepancies, associate feedback and vendor escalations; investigates and responds to questions and escalations from associates and leaders; investigates and escalates appropriately all claim payment discrepancies and disputes.
Data Audits: Regularly perform quality audits of data files exchanged with third party administrator (TPA)
Customer Service: Ensures timely resolution of questions and concerns; answers and responds to associate questions about leave of absence policies, pay and FMLA while upholding the OhioHealth principles of service delivery expectations, delivered within required Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
TPA Coordination: work closely with the Third Party Administrator (TPA) to facilitate escalations, resolutions, and timely requests for information or follow up. Including but not limited to, hours verifications, exception requests, return to work, and temporary restriction needs.
ADA: Coordinates activities related to the Accommodated Work Program
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to FMLA, ADA, state – specific leave laws and company policies.
Collaborate with other departments with OhioHealth including HR specialties, legal, payroll, and safety teams to resolve leave issues and questions

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree: Human Resources Management

Additional Job Description:

  • 2+ years of experience in leave administration or prior experience working for a leave management TPA/vendor, required
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and disability leave laws, required
  • Experience working with TPA’s, preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, enabling assessment of compliance issues and identification of root causes, required
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, encompassing a strong oral and written communication ability, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, with advanced skills in excel, required

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • General knowledge of Federal FMLA, Ohio BWC Regulations, medical terminology, claim management experience
  • Experience with self-insured workers compensation or non-occupational leave of absence claim management programs, preferred
  • Ability to analyze trends and themes in program administration and drive solutions that align with policy and objectives

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the laws and guidelines relating to FMLA, ADA, short term disability, Long Term Disability, and Ohio BWC.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of organizational stakeholders
