We're looking for a Learning Support Assistant – Essential Digital Skills to join our Adult Essential Skills team. This is an exciting opportunity to support adult learners in developing the digital skills they need for everyday life, employment and further study on a full time permanent basis.
Working closely with tutors and curriculum staff, you'll provide one-to-one, small group and classroom support, helping learners build confidence with technology while creating an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environment where everyone can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one, small group and classroom support to learners studying Essential Digital Skills
- Work alongside tutors to help learners develop digital skills for everyday life, employment and further learning
- Support learners to use Microsoft 365, online learning platforms, assistive technology and other digital resources
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual learner needs
- Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate support records and contribute to learner support strategies
- Encourage learner engagement, attendance, confidence, independence and achievement
- Support learners with varying levels of digital confidence using appropriate teaching and communication techniques
- Act as a scribe, reader and/or invigilator for learners with approved access arrangements
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, managers and external agencies to ensure coordinated learner support
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Level 2 qualification or above in Learning Support, Education, Adult Learning or a related discipline
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or recognised Level 2 equivalent)
- Experience supporting learners in an education or training environment
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs or SEND is desirable.
- Confident using Microsoft 365, digital devices, online learning platforms and educational technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain digital concepts clearly
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate learner records
