What You’ll Do:

Under the direction of the Learning and Development Manager, the Learning and Development Assistant provides administrative, logistical, and instructional support for Alexander Youth Network’s employee learning and development activities. Primary responsibilities include managing employee training profiles and records in the agency’s Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining audit-ready documentation, supporting new-hire orientation, and serving as a primary point of contact for the Learning and Development Department.

The L&D Assistant plays an active role in preparing for, supporting, and closing out new-hire orientation sessions. This includes coordinating training materials, classroom supplies, participant documentation, equipment, attendance records, certificates, and other logistical needs before, during, and after orientation.

The L&D Assistant is required to obtain and maintain agency-approved certifications in Handle With Care and CPR/First Aid. Within the scope permitted by each certification, the L&D Assistant serves as a certified co-instructor or instructional assistant to the L&D Mentor or another authorized lead trainer. This support helps the agency maintain required instructor-to-participant ratios, provide appropriate supervision during skills practice, and ensure employees have a safe and effective learning experience.

As a primary point of contact for Learning and Development inquiries and a visible member of the orientation team, the L&D Assistant must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
