You’ll be the architect of a scalable training framework that equips our workforce with the technical skills, sales expertise, and safety knowledge they need to excel in the field. Additionally, you’ll own building a lasting and scalable program to develop our branch management into next-gen leaders. This is an opportunity to create something new, impactful, and lasting. In return for your creativity and drive, you’ll gain the freedom to shape the future of training at PGD, while making a measurable impact on both employee performance and customer satisfaction.

What you will do:

  • Develop an overall learning and development strategy for the company.
  • Design, build, and execute a full-scale training program for field technicians, installers and salespeople focusing on accelerating ramp time and productivity outcomes.
·       Creates and produces training content, from idea phase to execution
  • Recommends and implements appropriate learning delivery modalities (e.g., classroom- virtual/ in-person, on demand, blended learning, etc.) to both facilitate and measure these approaches.
  • Facilitates instructor-led trainings and train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Partner with leadership, HRBP’s, field trainers and other counterparts to adopt best practices and tailor programs for our workforce.
  • Develop engaging training materials including manuals, e-learning, hands-on workshops, videos, and assessments.
  • Obsess over the new employee experience by implementing a consistent onboarding program that blends classroom instruction, field shadowing, and technology-enabled learning.
  • Establish training metrics and reporting dashboards to track effectiveness, technician readiness, and program ROI.
  • Continuously refine programs based on feedback, performance data, and evolving business needs.
  • Stay current on learning trends, instructional design methods, and industry-specific certifications or compliance requirements.

What you should bring:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Instructional Design (field service or skilled trades industry a plus).
  • Proven success designing and implementing training programs that improved performance or reduced time to competency.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and blended learning methods.
  • Comfort with training technology (LMS platforms, video tools, mobile learning apps).
  • Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable program improvements.
·       Strong presentation and facilitation skills; comfortable in front of small and large audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to travel across West Coast up to 30% of the time

Everyone you work with should describe you as:
  • Initiative Taker – Empowers themselves, brings solutions, has a bias for action and is highly accountable
  • Collaborative – Works well with others, solicits feedback, and has a positive upbeat personality who focuses on opportunities rather than obstacles
  • Analytical – Uses the right data to help inform and make decisions; applies critical thinking both strategically and tactically; is a wiz with Excel.
  • Gets Dirty – The ability to be comfortable with a high-volume workload, ambiguity, changing priorities and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
  • Effective Communicator - Has exceptional communication skills, both in composing thoughtful written communication and sharing complex information verbally
  • Humble – Lacks ego, shares credit and defines success collectively with a curious mind for learning

And you should be motived by:
  • Learning how to do something well by doing it, not be reading a manual or going to formal training
  • Working in a lean, results-oriented environment, where you’ll be expected to do more, take on more, and achieve more every year
  • Having fun in a start-up-y type environment high on transparency, open to new approaches and without a ton of structure
  • If you prefer highly defined processes, slower decision-making environments, or incremental change, this role will likely not be a fit

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $90,000 – $120,000 per year.
