Job Title: Learning and Development Lead

Job Purpose
The overall purpose of this job is to play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning and development programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees within the organization. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong instructional design capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
Key duties and responsibilities
Learning Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute a strategic learning and development plan aligned with organizational objectives.
- Identify key learning needs and priorities through collaboration with department heads and HR business partners.
- Training Program Design and Delivery:
- Design and deliver effective and engaging learning programs using various instructional methods, including classroom training, e-learning, workshops, and on-the-job training.
- Ensure content is current, relevant, and meets the diverse learning needs of employees.
Leadership Development:
- Create and implement leadership development programs to nurture and enhance the leadership capabilities of managers and executives.
- Provide coaching and support to leaders to reinforce learning and development principles.
Performance Management:
- Work in collaboration with HR and department managers to link learning initiatives with performance management processes.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning programs.
Learning Technology Integration:
- Identify and leverage learning technologies to enhance the delivery and accessibility of training programs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in learning technology.
Needs Assessment and Analysis:
- Conduct regular needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement.
- Analyze data and feedback to make informed decisions on the design and delivery of learning programs.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select external training vendors when necessary.
- Manage relationships with external training providers to ensure quality and relevance of programs.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Monitor expenses and report on budgetary performance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with HR, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Communicate learning and development strategies and updates to employees at all levels.
- Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
- Establish mechanisms for evaluating the impact of learning programs on employee performance and organizational goals.
- Continuously improve learning initiatives based on feedback, trends, and organizational needs; and
- Any other responsibilities assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, organizational development, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in instructional design and delivery, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with learning technologies and e-learning platforms.
- Strong analytical skills to assess learning needs and measure program effectiveness.
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in learning and development with 3 years at management level.

Skills Required
