APM Terminals (APMT), a maritime terminal operator and core business unit of Maersk, operates one of the world’s most comprehensive port networks, which is uniquely positioned to help both shipping line- and landside customers grow their business and achieve better supply chain.
 

APMT is undergoing an all-encompassing transformation from a multi-local, loosely coupled portfolio of individual terminals towards an integrated, best-in-class global terminal operator. The transformation involves developing and rolling out APMT’s Way of Working, built around a common operating system founded on Lean principles.

In this role you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director of APM Terminals Poti and as the LEAN Lead, you will be responsible for implementing elements and improvements delivered by the Way of Working program and be the change manager. 

This position is available at Poti Terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Positively coach, influence and actively manage leadership behavioral change according to the principles developed in the Way of Working program.

  • Coordinate and drive the local implementation of the Way of Working elements, including Process Standardization, Operating System, Lean Academy, Improvement activities (Kaizens) and Training within Industry (TWI) including JI, WI, and Job Relations).

  • Take ownership of local implementation activities using defined tools and methodologies where applicable and ensure ongoing coordination of local resources involved in corporation with the Port/Terminal management.

  • Mature the Operating System elements.

  • Coordinate the data gathering and validation for the program KPI’s.

  • Ensure the local implementation of improvements from Global Kaizens.

  • Provide timely reporting on program progress, issues, and risks.

  • Ensure to support and facilitate the anchoring of change within the Port/Terminal.

  • Facilitate Policy Development and challenge, mentor, and coach.

  • Create an environment that is supportive of learning, training and developing team’s competencies. Must be able to convey criticism in a positive or constructive way.

  • Drive, recognize and reward team’s performance, providing them with guidance for further improvement.

  • Encourage open dialogue and communication so that activities run consistently smoothly.

  • Reinforce APM Group culture, values & reputation & ensure compliance with APM Group policies.

Who we are looking for:

  • Solid experience in Lean Training or a Continuous Improvement deployment role.

  • To have abilities to challenge, mentor and coach senior leaders – even the MD.

  • Fluency in English languages, both written and spoken.

  • Strong senior management, change management and interpersonal skills, able to focus on business impact and change in behavior for the new ways of working and thinking.

  • Ability to drive implementation of new processes and support the organizational changes.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels across the local organization and guide them toward the local achievements.

  • Open minded, positive attitude and high drive to succeed and break through barriers.

  • Ability to perceive situations from different perspectives.
