Keyera is seeking a Leak Detection Analyst based in Calgary, Alberta, to support operations by responding to leak detection alarms, conducting detailed analysis, and contributing to ongoing system performance improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors real-time data from pipeline systems using specialized software and tools to detect pipeline irregularities.
- Provides on-shift leak detection system alarm response and analysis for Control Center Operations.
- Monitors leak detection system health and provides technical support.
- Responsible for the administration of Keyera leak detection systems.
- Participates in emergency response drills and incident investigations.
- Maintains and enhances Keyera leak detection program to ensure regulatory compliance and best in class controls.
- Maintains and improves leak detection processes and procedures to ensure consistent and correct response, interpretation and resolution of leak detection system alarms.
- Evaluate and support project development in identifying, reviewing, and approving design requirements for new pipeline systems.
- Conducts leak detection test simulations using approved methods.
- Creates detailed reports on system Reliability, Sensitivity, Accuracy, and robustness on a monthly and annual basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications.
- Five years (5) plus of industry experience in pipeline operations, pipeline leak detection and/or Eight years (8) experience with automation, SCADA support and field instrumentation.
- Experience with AVEVA software is preferred.
- Experience with various leak detection methodologies, including; Statistical, E-RTTM, and Volume Balance systems.
- Significant knowledge of pipeline operations, pipeline hydraulics, pipeline simulations, and computational pipeline monitoring.
- Action-orientated, highly motivated individual with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organization skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a timely and organized manner with an attention for detail and a focus on teamwork.
- Ability to understand and contribute to Leak Detection continuous improvement.
- A valid driver’s license and a 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract)
