Job Description
Sandoz is a global leader in Biosimilars and Generic medicines. As Sandoz Global Development Organization, we are responsible for the development and delivery of biosimilar and generic medicines, impacting patients’ lives worldwide.
The role is part of Biopharma Technical Development and will be based in Slovenia. Our aspiration is to be innovative in applying science to develop cell lines, technologies and processes that will enable production of high quality biosimilars. We are looking for a Leading Scientist Upstream Process Development (d/f/m) with experience in the design and development of upstream processes for biosimilars.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design, plan and execute process development and process characterization studies using quality by design principles and advanced statistical analysis and modelling tools.
- Scale-up upstream processes using expertise, knowledge and tools to model scale-dependent bioprocess parameters in relation to bioreactor design and capabilities.
- Act as an upstream expert supporting biosimilar projects developed at our partners.
- Present scientific results internally and contribute to publications, presentations, and patents.
- Ensure good documentation practices, prepare development documentation, and lead upstream process transfers from/to internal or external partners.
- Author and/or review development reports, registration documentation and interact with regulatory authorities where appropriate.
- Act as a technical expert in audits, inspections, alliances and/or due diligence activities as needed.
What you will bring to the role:
- Master or Doctoral degree in relevant natural science such as molecular and cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology.
- 5 years of working experience in the field of upstream process development.
- Expertise and experience in statistical tools used for process characterization studies.
- Strong understanding of bioreactor design and experience in tools for scale-up of USP processes.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
