JOB SUMMARY
The IT Applications Leader’s responsibility is to create and maintain the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery in the area of non-SAP and SAP application initiatives and support. The IT Applications Leader is the focal point for managing implementation, governance, and support of core
applications at Waukesha.
The position is responsible for effectively analyzing, planning, organizing, and supporting of production applications while managing risk, workload, scope, capacity, schedule, and budget.
This position also works closely with users, project sponsors and business leaders, SAP Lead, subject matter experts, and technical partners/resources (internal and third-party vendors), and executives in the delivery and support of applications that ensure that the needs of business priorities are fully addressed, and continuous improvement is being achieved.
This position is empowered to make decisions within standard operating procedures and Waukesha policies and procedures. The successful incumbent will be able to manage change and communicate effectively, relying on expertise, experience, and creativity to perform a variety of complicated tasks; provides consultation on complex projects; and is regarded as a top-level contributor/specialist.
As a project manager this includes executing tasks efficiently within their projects, managing risks, timelines, budgets, and quality. Partner to establish consistency in project management practices
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Researching and procuring software applications that will enable the priorities of the company
- Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining those applications as and where necessary
- Establishing protocols for software applications and ensuring their ease of use for others
- Overseeing upgrades for servers, hardware, and software
- Reporting on progress of operational issues to senior management, end users and stakeholders
- Managing financial budgets for both specific projects and day-to-day running of the IT Apps function
- Responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution
- Managing SAP Projects
- Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required
- Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements
- Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately leveraged
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 5+ years of experience in an Applications Manager or similar role preferably supporting SaaS applications
- 2+ years of Vendor management
- 3+ years project management of SAP
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proven cross-functional experience including Communication, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Operations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain system changes and functionality to all employees across Waukesha
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technology field or 10 years the recognized equivalent in work experience or self-study
- 5+ years’ experience with Cloud and Saas Applications
- 3+ years of SAP Project Management
