Job Description

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to child care providers, teachers, and administrators to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training on early childhood education, Texas Rising Star (TRS), and related topics.
  • Obtain and maintain certification as a TECPDS Registered Trainer and Texas Rising Star Mentor.
  • Partner with child care providers to develop and implement Continuous Quality Improvement Plans (CQIPs).
  • Support providers in improving instructional practices through data analysis, assessments, and coaching.
  • Prepare, explain, and administer provider contracts and maintain accurate provider records and case files.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation, data entry, reporting, and compliance with Workforce Board and TWC requirements.
  • Promote Workforce Solutions Child Care, Texas Rising Star, TECPDS, and related programs within the community.
  • Maintain assigned provider caseloads and monitor provider compliance with program requirements.
  • Develop and evaluate training programs, workshops, and technical assistance activities.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with providers, families, community partners, and staff.
  • Identify and communicate program concerns, compliance issues, or operational challenges to management.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Additional Requirements

  • May be required to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication with providers, families, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comply with all mandatory reporting requirements related to child abuse, neglect, fraud, or program abuse.
  • Participate in ongoing training, conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain punctuality, confidentiality, and adherence to agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, or a related field required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in early childhood education, Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, or Pre-K through 3rd grade settings.
  • Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and child care licensing standards.
  • Experience delivering adult training, coaching, and technical assistance preferred.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and case management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations and underserved communities.
  • Willingness to complete Texas Rising Star Mentor certification requirements.
  • Must possess reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver's license, and maintain an acceptable driving record and insurability.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and drug testing requirements
