In this role, you will:
- Mitigate risk to the bank and the customer to ensure customer satisfaction by processing letter of credits
- Lead review of complex reformatting, drafting, advising, and amending standby letters of credit that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Provide recommendations on existing policies, practices, and procedures
- Implement complex letter of credit structure, documentation, governing rules, internal policies, and credit risk implications
- Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring understanding of rules and regulations, governing letter of credit products with a full working knowledge of standby letters of credit
- Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Own and manage high-priority and complex escalations through resolution, ensuring accountability and timely outcomes
- Serve as the single point of coordination among Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Front Office stakeholders
- Lead rapid incident triage efforts to assess impact, identify risks, and establish resolution strategies
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and long-term remediation plans to prevent recurrence
- Provide clear, concise, and consistent status updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues impacting clients, processes, products, or systems
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to operational teams
- 5+ years of Trade Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
- 5+ years of Standby Letter of Credit Experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience including; coaching, training, and mentoring
- Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
- Demonstrated problem solving and independent decision-making skills
- Experience and/or ability to provide training and support to internal teams
- Subject matter expert supporting trade operations teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing operational risk.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
- Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Extensive experience in Operations, Incident Management, Escalation Management, Risk Management, or related disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to lead and resolve complex, high-impact operational issues
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- High degree of independence, accountability, and ownership
- Ability to work additional hours based on business need
