Job DescriptionWe are hiring a Lead Test Engineer to support cloud modernization initiatives within Credit & Verification Services. This is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad, requiring approximately 40% office attendance each month.
As a Lead Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and driving the quality strategy across products and platforms, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and Business stakeholders to support the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to Director Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the overall quality strategy, including functional, automation, performance, data, and security testing.
- Lead and support a team of Test Engineers, promoting consistent testing practices and knowledge sharing.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and testing solutions.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, DevOps teams, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to integrate quality practices early in the development lifecycle (Shift-Left).
- Define, track, and report quality metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive automation practices that support efficient and reliable software releases.
- Contribute to release governance activities, production readiness reviews, risk assessments, and release signoff processes.
- Advocate for testability, reliability, and observability during software design and architecture discussions.
- Apply AI and Generative AI tools to design, develop, and maintain reusable testing frameworks, utilities, accelerators, and engineering assets that improve productivity and testing capabilities across the quality engineering community.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field 10 years of hands-on experience in a quality engineering or test automation role for software systems.
- 3 years in technical leadership or test lead role managing test teams or cross functional squads. Proven track record in delivering quality for large-scale, cloud-native systems. Experience working in regulated industries like finance, insurance
- Passion for driving a quality mindset, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. Strong expertise in QA methodologies, Agile testing, SDLC, DevOps and continuous testing practices. Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar.
- Experience in API testing using Rest Assured, Karate, Postman or similar. Expertise in building and scaling test automation frameworks for UI, API, data and backend systems.
- Strong CI/CD pipeline management using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Bamboo. Hands-on experience testing cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred) – including services like S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Event Bridge, Batch and more Solid experience in SQL, database, and Big Data validation.
- (Mandatory) Strong hands-on programming proficiency in Python for building test automation frameworks, utilities, data validation scripts, and CI/CD tooling. (Mandatory) Practical experience with Generative AI (Gen AI) applied to quality engineering – for example, using LLMs and AI-assisted tools for test case generation, test data creation, code/test review, and accelerating automation; including prompt engineering and integrating Gen AI capabilities into testing workflows.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring and alerting systems like CloudWatch, Splunk.
