WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
We are looking for an experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer to join our Data Platform Teams in Noida, acting as the go-to quality and test automation expert across the platform. You will build and drive automated testing for UI, APIs, and data — including platforms such as Snowflake and SQL-based stores — and make testing a natural, built-in part of how we deliver, rather than an afterthought bolted on at the end. You will enable other engineers to test effectively, create transparency into quality and coverage across the data platform, and help embed testing into our CI/CD pipelines so issues are caught early and consistently. You will work in an agile environment, partnering closely with data engineers, while also being comfortable owning initiatives on your own.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Lead the design, build, and optimization of automated test suites across UI, API, and data layers, including data validation and reconciliation testing against Snowflake and other SQL-based platforms
Define and drive the test automation strategy for the data platform, setting shared standards and best practices adopted across multiple teams
Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines so quality gates run consistently as part of every build, release, and deployment
Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to define testing requirements and ensure alignment with business
Create transparency around test coverage, quality metrics, and known risks — through dashboards, reporting, and clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Enable and mentor other engineers to write and maintain their own automated tests, raising the overall quality bar across teams rather than being the sole tester
Collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and architects to identify testing gaps and design testable systems from the outset
Troubleshoot test failures and flaky tests, and continuously improve the reliability and speed of automated test suites
Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing on testing and quality across the data platform organization
KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of practical experience setting up testing frameworks and writing automated tests for UI (e.g. SpecFlow) and API (e.g. REST Assured or similar)
Solid SQL skills and practical experience testing data platforms such as Snowflake, including data validation, reconciliation, and pipeline testing
Experience embedding automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) so testing runs as a natural part of build and release
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and lead test strategy across multiple teams, while also collaborating effectively with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders
Clear communication skills — able to explain testing strategy, coverage, and risk clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience mentoring or enabling other engineers to adopt good testing practices
Programming/scripting skills (e.g. Python, Java, C#) to build and maintain test frameworks and tooling
Desirable:
Experience with test reporting and quality dashboards
Finance or investment management domain knowledge
Genuine interest in AI, with practical experience using AI tools to speed up test creation and maintenance
WHAT WE VALUE
Enablement over gatekeeping - you help other teams test well rather than being the sole quality checkpoint
Transparency - you make quality and test coverage visible and easy to understand for everyone
Ownership & continuous improvement - you take end-to-end responsibility for test quality and constantly look to automate and simplify
Clear communication - you explain your reasoning and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Flexibility in working hours
Hybrid working arrangements (at least 2x a week in the office)
