About the role

We are hiring a 12 month maternity cover Lead Technology Risk and Control Analyst role. You will be responsible for improving the maturity and effectiveness of controls across the Digital/Technology teams. Part of this will involve managing an ongoing control test plan and tracking control improvement actions to a successful completion. The role also focuses on how the control statuses impact the risk ratings across the Digital/Technology teams and reporting updates to risk and control owners and various forums and committees. The role holder will regularly liaise with Technology Managers to offer advice and guidance.

What you will be doing

  • Supports the Technology Risk Manager in influencing, shaping and embedding the Technology Risk Strategy across the Technology teams.
  • Leads the co-ordination and planning of Key Control testing across Technology and tracks the required improvements.
  • Is responsible for the Control Testing Plan and reports on findings and improvements to the Control Owners.
  • Leads on risk assessments and the mitigating action plan, and seeks risk owner approval.
  • Reporting of risks and control statuses through appropriate governance.
  • Provides control expertise and guidance to control owners.
  • Supporting Digital/Technology teams on Internal Audits or Second Line Risk reviews, and tracking associated issue actions to a successful conclusion and closure.
  • Owner of the HL Technology risk and control updates in MetricStream.

About you

  • Minimum 2-3 years working in a Risk and Control role or related roles, preferably within a financial services environment
  • High attention to detail, particularly when reporting test findings and recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent at influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work alone as well as in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment
  • Able to identify and suggest mitigations for risk and control weaknesses.
  • Familiar with risk reporting methods.
  • Qualifications such as risk in financial services (CISI), Operational Risk (IRM) are desirable, however equivalent qualifications with a risk and control focus may also be acceptable.

Interview process

  • Stage 1 CV run through, competency and technical interview including discussion around the role.
  • Stage 2 Final Interview with presentation.

Working schedule

This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
