JOB TITLE: Lead Technical Application Specialist
SALARY: £90,440 - £106,400 per annum
LOCATION: Bristol
HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office.

Exciting opportunity for a Lead Technical Application Specialist to join our Strategic Ledger Reconciliation and Controls Team, where you’ll be responsible for one of three feature teams; Oracle Reporting, Oracle General Ledger & Accounting Hub, Oracle Cost Ledgers.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building individuals and teams, whilst striving to improve capability and efficiency to shape and drive performance improvements. You will play a key part in the managing and maintaining technology as well as supporting with functional and engineering process improvements. Utilising your Oracle expertise, you’ll maximise the product functionality whilst providing engineering support for the integration with other software components, across a Finance technology landscape.

What you’ll do…
Accelerate the technology estate change lifecycle
Drive DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
Implement Integrated Test Automation
Leverage Cloud computing capabilities
Champion Agile ways of working
Apply expertise in Oracle ERP/EPM applications to lead and drive transformative change through route-to-live environments
Build a high-performing team that enables the Finance Platform to deliver change at pace without compromising control or quality
What you’ll need…
5 years + in Application Specialist with experience in exploiting functionality in Oracle Cloud products (OFSAA, ERP, EDMCS, ARCS, Task Manager, OIC, OAC, OTBI & FDI) and integration with other software such as GCP Solid understanding of Cloud hosting and awareness of integration, connectivity, authentication, SSO Web-services and API technologies.
Strong understanding of engineering and security protocols/standards.
Software Engineering background beneficial but not essential. Experience of SQL, BASH, LINUX highly beneficial
Understanding of Branching Strategies, tooling such GIT, Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions.
Enable Business Success – Facilitate workshops, manage Route to Live testing, including test automation, provide robust post-go-live support and handover to BAU.
Innovate Continuously – Stay ahead of the Oracle quarterly updates, understand new patch features and leverage the latest capabilities.
Great interpersonal skills and a good communicator with technical and non-technical people.
If you have any prior experience working within a finance function this would be desirable. Knowledge of SOX and associated controls highly beneficial.
