Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer within its technology Digital Platform Engineering group. This role will support the platform for ECM Center of Excellence Delivery teams for production support of multiple critical applications. The position is responsible for supporting a portfolio of strategic products and applications across Run Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and DevOps functions. In this role, you will:
- Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
- Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
- Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
- Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
- Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
- Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
- Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems.
- Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements.
- Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives. Review and provide inputs on NFRs (non-functional requirements)
- Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals.
- Monitor application and system performance and proactively address issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployments, builds, and system integrations
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting environments across the entire ecosystem (i.e. applications to infrastructure), identifying root cause, fixing, and documenting problems, and implementing preventive measures. Experience supporting technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications at the direction of lead architects, including largescale data processing.
- 3+ years experience with cloud platforms (Redhat OCP, GCP etc.)
- 3+ years experience with focus on Java based applications.
- 3+ years experience with observability tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana etc.
- Knowledge and experience in leading L2/L3 production support functions and troubleshooting issues.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices and experience with continuous integration deployment pipeline.
- Strong scripting skills and automation mindset
- Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with OCP, Java, and Observability tools as well as performance monitoring and log management tools.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI, Bamboo, Azure DevOps).
- Organized & structured in driving highly matrixed deliverables across cross functional teams and ability to quickly connect dots and troubleshoot issues
- Experience with SRE practices.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, OS (Windows/Unix), DBs, load-balancing & auto-scaling solutions/patterns, network communications.
- Good communication skills and ability to drive adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-app ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, synthetic monitoring, and chaos engineering.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
