The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer (eDiscovery Technology) to join the Technology eDiscovery team within The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group. EFT provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT, the eDiscovery Team is responsible for the collection processing, filtering, and delivery of data that is used as evidence for civil criminal and regulatory litigation. The ideal candidate will be someone well versed in all aspects of the eDiscovery job functions including Research, Collections, Culling, Delivery, and Preservations using FTK-Central. You will act as a liaison between TeDS, Legal, Technology and many different lines of business. This role will craft detailed execution plans, track issues and risks, and communicate those risks accordingly.
In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a conduit between the Legal department, technology, and line of business and delivers collected evidence/data to outside counsel or 3rd party vendor. They may also have to preserve data for future use or as required by legal.
  • Lead or participate in managing FTK-Central 8.0+ versions, FTK Imager, Enterprise Workflow Tool, EWT and their supporting infrastructure.
  • Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time.
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems and FTK-Central software.
  • Develops legally defensible and repeatable processes in support of Legal requests.
  • Works with Legal Discovery Team, LDT, to verify collection requests, search parameters and delivery details.
  • Must work with software application vendor, Exterro, to understand the application, support the application and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Must monitor, manage, and maintain over 700 Tb's of legal hold data and validate it is always accessible for legal collections.
  • Works with enterprise disposal and logistics, EMDL, on the collections, inventory and validation of legal hold hard drives and homeshares for adherence to legal hold requirements.
  • Must keep very detailed notes in requests in order to be able to understand them years later in the event that they are called upon for attestations from the court systems or regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of FTK-Central Application Support experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Purview for the collection of M-365 data
  • Experience with EWT (Enterprise Workflow Tool) Request System
  • Well versed in Excel, SQL, Boolean operators, and Windows
  • NAS storage and file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP, and Filezilla)
  • Data retention requirements and BCP (Business Continuity Planning) protocols and standards.
