The Lead Surveillance Officer supports the Surveillance Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations of the Surveillance Department to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of casino operations. This role assists with leading and mentoring Surveillance Officers, monitoring gaming activity through surveillance systems, conducting investigations, documenting incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies, gaming regulations, and internal controls. The Lead Surveillance Officer serves as the department lead in the supervisor’s absence and is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
 

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision in the supervisor’s absence. 

  • Assist the supervisor in the direction of Surveillance Officers in performing their duties and procedures of the company. 

  • Assist supervisor in preparation and maintenance of daily paperwork and in training. 

  • Provide feedback to the Supervisor for completion appraisal reviews. 

  • Communicates with and notifies appropriate management and authority upon the detection and taping of cheating, theft, embezzlement or other illegal activities. 

  • Works in liaison with the applicable department managers and state regulators with regards to confidential matters. 

  • Work effectively with all departments assuring efficient surveillance support service is provided when needed. 

  • Perform all duties of a Surveillance Officer when necessary. 

  • Operates all surveillance equipment with a high degree of skill. 

  • Performs observations of all departments and applicable job functions to assure compliance with the established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls. 

  • Meets attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies. 

  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations. 

  • Must be able to observe and retain specific details of incidents and persons. 

  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports. 

  • Must be able to work overtime or switch shifts on short notice
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must possess a positive attitude and demonstrate effective teamwork skills.
  • A minimum of one year surveillance experience is required. 
  • A thorough working knowledge of all casino operations is required. 
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational and writing skills
  • Must be punctual, have good work ethics, and be a reliable person with a can-do positive attitude.
  • Must be flexible with schedule to work holidays and weekends.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Lifts up to a maximum of 10 lbs. and/or carries objects weighing up to 10 lbs. 

  • Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. 

  • Position requires 5% standing, 90% sitting, 5% walking. 

  • Requires some bending, kneeling and reaching overhead. 

  • Must be able to respond to touch, speech, aural and visual cues. 

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact. 

  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • $23.00 per hour. 
  • Employment Type – Full Time

Shift Details:

  • Grave Shift: 10:30 pm - 6:00 am
