The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Lead Specialty Software Engineer with full stack java development experience to join the Customer Information Management Team within Consumer Technology. This Lead Specialty Software Engineer will have expertise in developing microservices and working with modern technologies such as MongoDB, Kafka, and container-based platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience and the ability to lead moderately complex initiatives within a technical domain. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and deliver moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large-scale planning and strategy development for technology solutions
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review and address moderately complex technical challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve technical issues and lead a team to meet client needs, leveraging a solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve project goals
  • Act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff
  • Lead projects and ensure successful delivery of technical solutions
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Java development
  • 5+ years of experience in developing microservices and working with MongoDB and Kafka
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with container-based technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies

  • Ability to lead and deliver moderately complex technical initiatives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate and resolve technical challenges
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers
  • Excellent communication skills at every level of the organization
  • Ability to lead and influence others and critique their work in a way that improves the overall team and the final product
  • Strong relationship skills that brings others in, educates stakeholders, and drives consensus
  • Very deep skills in at least two technical domains
  • Ability to troubleshoot analyze performance bottlenecks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in technology environments
  • Hands on experience with Agentic AI implementation and productionized solutions

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
