Supplier Quality Assurance
- Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and periodic re-evaluation activities
- Assist with supplier audits (desk and on-site), including preparation, execution, and follow-up actions
- Review supplier documentation such as certifications, inspection results, and FAI/FPQ (PPAP) packages
- Help track and report supplier performance metrics related to quality and delivery-
- KPI Data reporting/ PowerPoint presentations for department on KPI’s
Nonconformance and Corrective Action
- Support review and investigation of supplier nonconformances (NCRs)
- Review, log and support supplier deviation requests (SDRs)
- Assist in issuing, tracking, and closing supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
- Review root cause analyses and verify implementation of corrective actions
- Escalate supplier quality risks and repeat issues to senior personnel as needed
Quality and Compliance Support
- Support supplier compliance to applicable standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ASME, NQA-1 and customer-specific requirements)
- Assist with incoming inspection, source inspection, and risk-based inspection activities
- Maintain supplier quality records, audit reports, and associated documentation
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in supplier improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Support process improvement efforts related to supplier quality and sourcing
- Assist with updates to procedures, work instructions, and quality tools
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and receiving inspection teams
- Support supplier activities related to new supplier introduction and engineering changes
- Communicate supplier quality status clearly and professionally
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferred. Other bachelor’s degrees considered with related experience.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering role. Internship or co-op experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic understanding of quality systems and problem-solving tools (root cause analysis, corrective actions)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001; exposure to AS9100 or NQA-1/ASME standards is a plus
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic data analysis tools
- Mechanical inspection techniques or PCBA inspection experience with IPC-610/620 preferred
- Willingness to learn supplier quality processes and regulatory requirements
- Attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with external suppliers
- Ability to travel up to 20% for supplier visits or audits
This role is intended to develop into a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer or equivalent position with demonstrated performance, increased ownership, and independent management of supplier quality activities.
