As a Lead of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Auto Line of Business (Auto LOB), Consumer & Community Banking (CCB), you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides guidance to an immediate team of full stack software engineers on daily tasks and activities, including design, development, and delivery of solutions leveraging Java, Spring Boot, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration within an Agile Scrum framework
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements, ensuring alignment with Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) such as performance, scalability, and security
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements within the Auto LOB domain
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Drives DevOps culture and practices across the team, including CI/CD pipeline management, automated testing, and cloud-native deployment on AWS

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience
- Experience leading technology projects across the full software development lifecycle in a full stack engineering environment
- Experience managing technologists, including coaching, performance management, and career development
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods, with hands-on experience in DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, with demonstrated ability to contribute to design and build activities
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Practical cloud-native experience, specifically with AWS services and infrastructure
- Experience working at code level across the full stack, including Java, Spring Boot, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application architecture
- Familiarity with NFR frameworks including performance engineering, resiliency, and security standards
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
