WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

SimCorp's software runs investment operations for some of the largest financial institutions in the world. When it has a problem, our clients feel it quickly. This team makes sure we see those problems first, and increasingly understand them before they turn into incidents.

You will work across a modern observability stack, Grafana, Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry and Terraform, with real freedom to shape how it grows. This is genuine ownership of something the business depends on.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Turning our Grafana dashboards and alerting into a surface engineers actually trust.

  • Building out our Azure telemetry, with KQL as the language that ties the stack together.

  • Setting the standard for how services are instrumented with OpenTelemetry, and helping product teams get it right.

  • Raising the quality of our alerting so that what fires actually matters.

  • Shaping service level objectives, error budgets, and the reliability conversations that come with them.

  • Owning your area end to end and setting a technical bar the rest of the team grows toward.

 WHAT WE VALUE

Our stack is broad and we do not expect one person to have done all of it. We are looking for real depth in Grafana and Azure observability, strong fundamentals across the rest, and the judgement to own a problem and work out the parts you have not met yet.

You will fit well if you bring:

Core strengths

  • Several years in observability, site reliability, or platform engineering, delivering independently rather than waiting for direction.

  • Deep Grafana experience across dashboards and multiple data sources.

  • Strong Azure monitoring, especially Log Analytics and KQL.

  • Comfort with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.

  • Sound instincts for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.

A real advantage

  • OpenTelemetry in practice, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD.

Things we will help you grow into

  • The wider Azure and Microsoft Fabric data stack, modern incident and SLO tooling, and anomaly detection.

We like people who are comfortable with ambiguity, who improve the things around them, and who make the engineers next to them better.

BENEFITS
