Wells Fargo is looking for a Lead Engineer to design and development Agentic AI-driven solutions integrated with Spring Boot microservices within the Enterprise Product and Pricing (EPPM) product domain. This role requires a strong technical software engineer who can create/code scalable systems, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in AI orchestration and enterprise-grade microservices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing microservices and working with modern technologies such as MongoDB, Kafka, and Container-based platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and deliver complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain of environments
- Translate technology experience into technical engineering solutions
- Contribute to large-scale planning and strategy development for technology solutions
- Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs, including upgrades and deployments
- Review and address moderately complex technical challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve technical issues and lead a team to meet client needs, leveraging a solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve project goals
- Act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff
- Lead projects and ensure successful delivery of technical solutions
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, with a strong focus on Java development
- 5+ years developing microservices and working with MongoDB and Kafka
- 3+ years hands-on experience with container-based technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- 3+ years of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years API Microservices development and delivery experience on internal or external cloud platforms
- 5+ years of engineering experience in leading/coding/managing Core Banking applications
- 3+ years designing and developing GenAI-powered applications using LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, etc.)
- 3+ years of Test Automation development experience
- Familiarity with AI governance, model risk management, compliance constraints, and responsible AI practices
- Ability to troubleshoot analyze performance bottlenecks
- Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, TrueSight
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a fast-paced team environment (including onshore and offshore)
- Experience designing large language models (LLM) prompt engineering, prompt chaining, and evaluation frameworks
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
