As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will define next-generation solutions that transform how we deliver infrastructure platforms, applications, and services to our customers. You will collaborate closely with development teams, architects, and SRE/QA teams to modernize applications, focusing on high-quality design, application stability, and user experience. You will work independently to solve complex problems and communicate your findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting by thinking beyond routine approaches to solve technical problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
- Drive modernization efforts, including migrating data from cloud platforms.
- Partner with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to define technical strategy and deliver innovative solutions.
- Champion modernization and SRE/DevOps practices to accelerate delivery and improve product quality.
- Participate in strategic planning and technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technology standards.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Demonstrate hands-on programming and application development (full-stack) experience utilizing Java, Angular/React, Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL, Microservices, Cloud Native, Agile, MSSQL Server/Oracle, DevOps, and TDD.
- Deliver large-scale, high-impact applications and lead modernization projects.
- Apply deep understanding of application modernization strategies, including private/public cloud migration, microservices, containerization, and DevOps practices.
- Exhibit knowledge of software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern engineering tools.
- Solve complex problems and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Influence and drive technology decisions at a senior level.
- Manage stakeholders and foster collaboration across teams.
- Implement best practices in software development and system design.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
